Daniel J. (Dan) Elder,

Dan is an independent business growth consultant, affiliated with a worldwide network of consultants skilled in every aspect of business operation and support.  He is also a published author, professional speaker, business coach, and columnist for Business in Savannah magazine, a print publication of The Savannah Morning News (archived columns are available on our Free Resources page).

Dan knows the emotional, financial, and technical challenges of business ownership. He brings 25 years of military, corporate America, and business ownership experience in the operation, maintenance, training and administration of production organizations to the table. His career path helped him develop strong suits in strategic planning, team building, problem solving, project management, and the knowledge of what it takes to stay abreast of constantly changing technology. Over his career Dan has operated, taught, and studied literally hundreds of business models.

His education and experience include a BS degree in the behavioral sciences, with many other management and technical courses completed during his career in industry. He spent much of his early career teaching and working with adults in the highly technical environment of the nuclear industry. His following 10 years in management were focused on guiding leadership and professional development, helping people master new skills and stay abreast of constantly changing technology.

Dan stays involved in continuing education to ensure his skills stay sharp. He is a US Navy submarine veteran and is the father of six, ranging in age from teens to twenties. At home he enjoys spending time in his woodworking shop, pursuing most outdoor activities, and reading an occasional good book.
